September 13, 2016 (SAN DIEGO, CA)– As the annual Fleet Week San Diego events kick into high gear, the Coronado Speed Festival prepares to welcome its many guest racers and performers. X-Games regular and Red Bull action athlete Aaron Colton will be one of those performing at the “Race at the Base” on Saturday, September 17 at 11:30 am and 2:00 pm.

Colton began his career young, competing in street freestyle motorcycling at 13 years old. The Minnesota native would become the youngest XDL National Stunt Riding Champion at 15. He has since competed across the country in Street Freestyle, AMA Pro Road Racing, Regional Supermoto and Motocross races. He has mastered varying motorcycling styles as a versatile athlete, and at only 24 become one of the most recognized Street Freestyle riders in the world.

Colton’s rubber-burning stunts will fit right in at the Coronado Speed Festival, with other attractions like the Car Show Show Down featuring Southern California’s finest muscle cars, hotrods and sports cars, as well as garage tours and military aerial and static displays taking place throughout the weekend. The public is invited to enjoy the Navy Open House Saturday and Sunday. Guests can enjoy exciting demonstrations and special events like the Military Pit Crew Challenge, where 20+ Navy Command teams will race each other in a full pit stop relay, and the Gourmet MRE Cooking contest where active duty and reservists will cook to impress judge Master Chef Nick Nappi.

Actor and humanitarian Gary Sinise will be Grand Marshal at the “Race at the Base” and will perform live in concert with the Lt. Dan Band on Saturday at noon, so guests can sit back and enjoy live music—FREE with admission.
