U.S. NAVY Ship Tours

Saturday and Sunday, September 27 and 28, 2008

Time:

10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Sign-Up:

Tours are conducted on a first come-first served basis.  No advance reservations can be accepted. 

Location:

Naval Air Station, North Island, Coronado.  Follow signs to the Coronado Speed Fest parking.  A shuttle will take you to the ships from the Speed Fest entrance.

Cost:

Free, but requires a valid photo ID issued by the U.S. federal, U.S state government, or valid passport for anyone over 16 years old.  (This is the same ID required for boarding an airliner).

Event Description: The Commanders of the U. S. Navy's Third Fleet and Naval Surface Forces, U.S. Pacific Fleet invite everyone with an interest in seeing some of the Navy’s finest ships to come down to Broadway Pier for a chance to experience the inside of a Navy ship firsthand. The following ships are available for visits on the dates shown below. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring a photo ID. Because of confined spaces, strollers are not permitted on the ships.

For security reasons, all visitors are required to adhere to the guidelines listed below.   Guests over 16 are required to have a valid government photo ID in their possession at all times. 

All visitors will be required to pass through an airport style security screening to include walk through metal detectors, hand held scanners and bag check. 

During your tour, you will be expected to follow all instructions of your assigned tour guides. 

Permitted Items:  small purses, small camera bags, fanny packs.  ** A thorough inspection of all small camera bags and purses will be conducted prior to admittance.

Prohibited Items:  food or drinks, guns, knives, clubs or weapons of any kind, mace, pepper spray, spray cans or other defensive spray or chemicals, fireworks or explosives of any kind, flammable liquids, club weapons, illegal drugs and/or paraphernalia, camera tripods, large backpacks, camera bags, diaper bags or large purses, baby strollers or child carriers of any kind (minimum age for tours is 4 years old)

** POLITICAL ACTIVITIES, PAMPHLETEERING, SPEECHES, PLACARD/BANNER DISPLAY AND SIMILAR ACTIVITIES ARE NOT ALLOWED ABOARD U.S. NAVY SHIPS.
