Joe Craver
Joe W. Craver is the appointed Interim CEO of the San Diego/Imperial Counties American Red Cross beginning in May, 2007. He is the founder of Galaxie Management, Inc., a nationwide marketing company.
Mr. Craver retired as Colonel in the U.S. Air Force. He served in the Pentagon where he procured all the Air Force aircraft, missiles and spare parts with an annual check-writing authority of 13 billion dollars per year. He also served as the primary witness during congressional hearings for the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of the Air Force. Mr. Craver is a combat veteran, having earned a Silver Star, Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross for Gallantry, Distinguished Flying Cross for Aerial Achievement, four Air Medals, Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. He was a Command Pilot logging over 8,000 flying hours. Colonel Craver flew over 210 combat missions over Vietnam from 1967-1968.
Mr. Craver earned his MA at Stanford University, and a BS at Arizona State University. He is also a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Craver has been married for 54 years to Rayma-Lew and has one son who is the president of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).
